I used to spend a lot of time painting and drawing abstracts in the evenings, after a day working in London. The abstract forms I drew appeared to dominate imagined landscapes- although abstract, the forms I was drawing, seemed to me, to be Guardians that were protecting the human race.

Now in this time of climate crisis, the work resonates with me and what is happening in our world. I have reworked the ideas. The abstract forms have turned into Guardian heads - spiritual beings, strong, standing tall in the landscape, like ancient gods. Each Guardian. seems to sound a warning as they attempt to protect our world from what lies ahead! I lmagine these large towering heads in the landscape wherever they are needed!
